I like this quote; I think that it applies to a lot of different difficult scenarios.
"The Death of the Ball Turret Gunner"
From my mother's sleep I fell into the State,
And I hunched in its belly till my wet fur froze.
Six miles from earth, loosed from its dream of life,
I woke to black flak and the nightmare fighters.
When I died they washed me out of the turret with a hose.
-Randall Jarrell-
This was a poem referred to in the comic strip Frazz today, the 23rd. If you do not read this strip, you should start. I am a big fan of the disillusioned soldier; mainly because I cannot believe that there exists any other kind.

Hey bro! Sorry I missed you on Scype the other day. I like the quote from climbing.com... I was laughing so hard when I read that.
Anyway, wish you were here. Been climbing some beautiful routes at the Promised Land. I'll try to post some pics sometime.
Peace.

These poems are wonderful... I'm glad to hear you're surrounded by exciting people, that's a nice heap to be in the middle of...
And you will be climbing harder than you ever have in no time when you get to some rock!

It was so awesome to SEE you yesterday! Can't wait to see you again soon!
You would like "Johnny Got His Gun" by Dalton Trumbo as well. It's similar to the ones you listed, and a quick read. It's pretty graphic, but amazing.
Hope you're having fun!
