this is not my picture. there is a blog called day19.com, and it is run by jeremy and claire weiss. based out of l.a., they take photos for major magazines and ad campaigns; pop culture kind of stuff. they also run a gallery called "this", this picture if from a show at that gallery.
these are just a bunch of pictures that have been collecting on my memory card, in my phone, and on my desktop. hope all is well and everyone is happy.

Weekend Escape

the clouds (not only cool looking) were a welcome rest from the hot greek sun.
thomas shaking out on the long pitch.

thistle over litohoro

kind of reminds me of yosemite

it is a long way up . . . wait down?

so, the weather is good, school is stressful, and the rock is dry. what to do, what to do? well, last weekend i went with my climbing partner and good friend thomas to a multipitch just below olympos called zilnia. the trip was awesome and better yet, very cheap. we were able to stay with a professional runner who lives in the village close by, litohoro. his name is alex and he regularly makes the run from the village up to the highest shelter on olympos. he has won the olympos marathon like four times; super cool guy and we thank him for his hospitality. The picture of me was taken by thomas about 150 meters off the deck so thanks.

sweet send.
"he did it!"

who would have thought that adam would be the pied piper of little kids. things he teaches? how to use chop-sticks and karate chopping. the kids are definitely better for it.

such a fun trip home. it was so nice to see everyone; keep in touch.

I Promise It Is Not A Competition

well, it has been a while for me too (referring to keith's blog). i am just checking in to say hey and to post some fresh pictures. the wonder of greece is the proximity of all kinds of different environments: marsh-land, deciduous forests, evergreen forests, islands, and mountains. eleftheria and i drove about three hours into the mountains, south west of Thessaloniki, with a couple of our friends, vikki and michalis, for some fun in the snow.

the weather was brilliant and we had a great time just hiking around. michalis and vikki are both big mountaineers with all the stuff, but since i don't have any of the necessary equipment and neither does eleftheria we just decided to do as much as we could in some general gear (most of mine being borrowed). it turned out to be a super great trip (although eleftheria got a bit sick).

. . . honestly i wrote the stuff above a couple of weeks ago so . . . that was then. now i am sick and tired. work is tough but going well. i have not been in touch for a while and am feeling a bit disconnected, but i suppose that is what happens when you live far away from the family action. so i thought i would take a minute to try to connect . . .

. . . so since we are being honest, i will say that i have been writing this blog for the last month.

school: School is good, busy, but good. i have two mun conferences coming up on back to back weekends (one in edinburgh) and i just learned that i have a new s.s. curriculum to construct for next year. so, all is well. spring break is so close.
plans: climb, scotland, maybe a concert or two.
being sick without a mom: this is probably the worst experience that one can ever have.
new places in thessaloniki: found a couple of new, really cool bars and a wonderful new restaurant called .ES, it is a wonderful little spot. cool local and great food. yes mom and dad, we'll go.
climbing: pretty sweet bouldering area called pinovo. i was introduced to the place by some friends last weekend, really great. i am still waiting for the tufas to dry.
